Sails on the ship softly sail away
Mast is so grand and new as day
Watch from crows nest away from the shore
Eyes glint in the sun and taste the salt sea spray
Taste of love once stained on her lips
Dice has been thrown and loves lost chips
The gamble was love and not paid off
Its a game and love must be lost
Wiser heart now, still feel the ebbs of pain
Moon and stars above moved on such quick disdain
Fleeting ships must both cross paths
Nets in the water thrown and cast
A lady sobs gently into her hand
Ship rocks her like a cradle, a tiny child in the sand
Storms come and go and time flies on by
Wind in her face and she knows not why
Sails on the ship to the lighthouse bound
Watching this time for rocks where the sailors have drowned
Sails on the sea back last time into the night
A dot on the horizon and now out of sight
T'was a dot on the horizon and now gone from sight ...
